Tourism Shows a Positive Signal as MOTS Reveals 4% Growth of Tourist in November
Aviation, Health/Wellness and Hotel stocks will book more income at year-end after the Ministry of Tourism and Sports asserts a higher growth of tourist in November.
Ministry of Tourism and Sports has revealed the tourist’s data of November 2018, which showed a 4.54% growth (YoY), and better than a decline of 0.51% in the previous month. A total of 3,177,569 tourists visited Thailand in November, amounting ฿167 billion of income and 5.18% growth.
The number of visiting tourist in East Asia increased in almost every country, while the number of Chinese tourist to Thailand had increased after the government issue a temporary free Visa on Arrival fee for 21 countries, effective November 15, 2018 to January 13, 2018.
In 11 months of 2018, a total of 31,431,489 tourists had visited Thailand, increased by 7.53%, while creating income to the country over ฿1.8 trillion, increased by 9.79% (YoY).
Aviation stocks such as BA, THAI, NOK, AAV and AOT tend to have more earning due to a high season at year end, while Hotel stocks such as ERW, CENTEL, MINT and Health/Wellness stocks such as BEAUTY, MPG will also receive positive sentiment from a higher number of tourists as well.
