‘Paiboon’ Files a Complaint on Using ‘Former’ Royalty for Political Campaign

Paiboon Nititawan, leader of People Reform Party, has filed a complaint to ECT to halt the submission of Princess Ubolratana as a prime minister candidate, asserting that the procedure is violating the election law.

Regarding the submission of Thai Princess Ubolratana Rajakanya Sirivadhana Barnavadi’s name as a prime minister candidate of Thai Raksa Chart Party this morning, Paiboon Nititawan from People Reform Party has submitted a complaint to Election Commission of Thailand (ECT) against the procedure from Thai Raksa Chart Party.

Paiboon Nititawan states that the submission is violating election law of using the monarchy name for political campaign. Even though the princess relinquished her title since 1972 for marrying a commoner, Thai people still view and praise her as one of the royal family.
