ADVANC’s 2Q Profit Declines 3% to Book ฿7.75bn amid Severance Pay and 4G Installment

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (ADVANC) has reported its 2Q19 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows:

ADVANC’s 2Q19 profit was THB 7,754 million, decreased 3.14% YoY but increased 1.5% QoQ. In 2Q19, AIS reported a total revenue of THB 44,688 million, increased 5.8% YoY and 2% QoQ, comprising of higher service revenue and device sales. Meanwhile, cost of service was THB 20,170 million, increased 5% YoY and 1.8% QoQ following 4G network investment.

In 2Q19, EBITDA was THB 19,117 million, increased 0.6% YoY and 1.1% QoQ following growth in core service revenue offset by higher network OPEX and SG&A. Excluding the one- time legal severance pay, normalized EBITDA was THB 19,753 million, increasing 4% YoY and 4. 5% QoQ, with a margin standing at 44.2% compared to 45.0% in 2Q18 and 43.1% in 1Q19. Reported net profit was THB 7,725 million decreasing 3.5% YoY but increasing 1.5% QoQ.
