PTT Acquires Coal Mining Licenses in Indonesia through ฿360m of Investment in IDN Firms
PTT Acquires 2 Indonesian Companies with an Investment of ฿360m to Add Its Coal Reserves.
PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) has announced that Sakari Resources Limited (SAR), 95.82% owned by PTT Global Management Co., Ltd. (PTTGM) a wholly owned subsidiary of PTT), acquired 100% common shares through SAR’s subsidiaries in both PT Sentika Mitra Persada (SMP) with the registered capital of 57,804,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah and PT Multiara Kapuas (MK) with the registered capital of 21,883,000,000 Indonesian Rupiah. Those two companies are the owners of coal mining licenses in Indonesia. The total investments in SMP and MK are approximately USD 11. 7 million or approximately 360.5 million baht.
The objectives of this transaction are to replenish coal reserves of SAR as SAR’s current reserves are depleting, and to enhance SAR group’s quality adjustment capability with coal production from existing mines to meet its customers’ requirements.
