JAS-DTAC Seal the Weakness, Open the Path for High Growth
Finally, DTAC could step up on ADVANC and TRUE's level, while JAS would benefit from a huge load of customer data from DTAC.
It was a surprise announcement in the morning of December 3, 2019, when Jasmine International Public Company Limited (JAS) and Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (DTAC) officially a strategic partnership to offer limitless internet connectivity services, leveraging fixed broadband networks of TTTBB and mobile phone networks between the two companies.
The deal had shut all those gossipers about Pete Bodharamik, JAS’ major shareholder, would abandon JAS and sell the shares to other groups which had caused its share prices to plummet.
The cooperation between JAS and DTAC was the talk of the town as it would allow each company to surpass its limit.
Both companies are having the same problem, which has been holding their growth down.
Currently, DTAC is the only operator that does not have a broadband business while the deal with JAS could give DTAC a pathway to acquire the business through JAS’s subsidiary, Triple T Broadband Public Company Limited (TTTBB).
DTAC could emerge from being only mobile phone networks to an all-rounded internet provider from offering mobile network services with a broadband package which would result in booking higher average revenue per user (ARPU).
Finally, DTAC could start trailing Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (ADVANC) and True Corporation Public Company Limited (TRUE) that had already gone far ahead.
Meanwhile, JAS would get DTAC’s customer base which is around 20.4 million numbers. The data that JAS would acquire is so precious that only 10% of DTAC’s customer base is considerably higher than half of TTTBB’s. Upon putting these data in good use, JAS would have outstanding growth in its business. More importantly, the deal would significantly increase JASIF’s asset.
This is why it is a win-win scenario for both JAS and DTAC!
