THAI cancels flights due to eruption of Taal Volcano, Luzon Island.
Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI) announced cancellation of Bangkok-Manila flights as the Taal Volcano on Luzon Island, located in the south of Manila, erupted causing ash and smoke in both airspace and ground. Manila International Airport announced its temporary closure since 19.00 hours (local time which is an hour faster than Thailand’s time) on 12 January 2020. As a result, the following THAI flights have been canceled:
- Flight TG 625 Manila-Bangkok on 12 January 2020.
- Flight TG 620 and Flight TG 624 Bangkok-Manila on 13 January 2020.
- Flight TG 621 and Flight TG 625 Manila-Bangkok on 13 January 2020.
THAI stated that the company will closely monitor the situation and return to its regular operation of Bangkok-Manila flights after THAI receives permission from Manila International Airport. Passengers scheduled to travel on flights mentioned above are advised to keep abreast of all related news and flight information via thaiairways.com website or contact THAI Contact Center at Tel. 0-2356-1111, 24 hours a day.
The ticket change fee will be waived with terms and conditions apply for passengers holding THAI roundtrip tickets on the Bangkok-Manila route dated on 12-27 January 2020. Tickets can be reissued or rescheduled within 27 January 2020 by contacting THAI Sales Offices, the THAI Contact Center at Tel. 0-2356-1111 or THAI travel agents.
