Hong Kong’s First Death from Coronavirus! China’s Death Toll Breaks 400!

A 39-year-old man has reportedly died from the coronavirus in Hong Kong this morning, according to people familiar with the case.

 

This has marked the first death in the Asian financial hub and the second death outside China after the Philippines on Saturday.

Hong Kong medical professionals began a five-day strike Monday after the government refused their demand to shut all entry points from China.

 

China’s death toll from the virus rose to 425 as of February 3, according to the National Health Commission, with 20,438 confirmed cases in the country. The commission said that 2,788 of the cases are severe.
