SEC Approves the Postponement of F/S by 3 Months for Companies Affected by COVID-19 Crisis.
Ms. Jomkwan Kongsakul, Assistant Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Thailand has made a clarification, through Kaohoon Facebook Live and YouTube Live, on the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on the submitting of the first quarter financial statement ending March 31, 2020.
Ms. Jomkwan has stated that the SEC will introduce a measurement to relieve the impact of coronavirus outbreak to listed companies. SEC will postpone the submittance of financial statements of the first quarter by 3 months instead of the usual 45 days after the end of the quarter.
The company affected by the impact of the coronavirus outbreak whether it be closure of operations, receiving severe impact from the outbreak or any other reasons which caused the company to be unable to fully perform its operation during the crisis will require an approval from an auditor to submit for a postponement request to SEC.
