SET Drops 16pts as Euro Stocks and Dow Futures Edge Lower amid Dire 2020 GDP Forecast

SET Index fell 16.18 points or 1.29% to 1,240.17 after 30 minutes into the afternoon session European stocks declined at the open while Dow Jones Futures contracted 1.31%.

 

After closing the morning session with a point higher, SET Index fell 16 points in the afternoon session as investors weigh on the impact of coronavirus outbreak upon the release of the global economic outlook from IMF that forecasted the global GDP to contract by 3% in 2020 after a forecast of 3.3% growth in January.

German’s DAX dropped 2.02%, British FTSE lost 1.61%, French CAC plunged 1.61%, and EURO Stoxx 600 fell 1.48%.

Dow Jones Futures dipped 316.50 points or 1.33% to 23,563.50 points, S&P 500 Futures slipped 1.40%, and Nasdaq shed 1.05%.
