SEPO Approves the Plan to Recover THAI for Near Term and Long Term Sustainability

Mr. Prapas Kong-ied, Managing Director of State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO), has announced the resolution of the SEPO meeting with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha as a chairman in the meeting.

 

The meeting approved the recovery plan for Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI), in which the plan had been approved by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Finance. The plan will be proposed to the Thai Cabinet in the next step for an approval. The plan is expected to recover THAI business in the near term and long term as well as raising THAI’s liquidity.

The source close to the matter stated that the plan includes a capital increase by THAI for other state enterprises to hold a portion of stake in the company.
