SET Soars 1.1% as Vaccine Hopes Beat U.S.-China Tension

SET Index jumped 14.73 points or 1.10% to 1,355.80 points with a trading value of 45.1 billion baht as of 15:45 local time in Thailand (GMT+7) in response to coronavirus vaccine hopes.

 

Overnight, an American biotech company Moderna said that its vaccine in the early-stage trial produced a “robust” immune response to coronavirus in all 45 patients.

The report lifted market sentiment on Tuesday as Asia and European markets traded higher, except SSEC, which dropped 1.56% due to rising tension with the U.S. as both countries were sanctioning each other.
