CWT Expects a Robust Business in 2020, Supporting by the New “SakunC” EV Ferry
Mr. Weerapon Chaiteerath, the Chairman of Director of Chai Watana Tannery Group Public Company Limited (CWT), together with SakunC Innovation Company Limited (SakunC), a subsidiary which CWT owned 50.01% stake, Chairman Namchai Sakunchoknamchai, and Chief Executive Weeraphon Techaphasuksanti have sent a congratulations to Marine Department as the office celebrate the 161st anniversary. CWT on the same day has unveiled the all-electric boat “EV Ferry”, a clean energy boat that was built by SakunC for Banpu Next Company Limited (Banpu Next) and Phuket Patri Tour Company Limited, which will serve as the new standard for Thailand electric boats.
SakunC, a company specialized in using modern materials and technologies to build vehicles, has made the Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) with 1) Marine Department 2) National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA) and 3) Banpu Next Company Limited (Banpu Next) to become partners in developing and designing a safety electric boat that meet customers’ needs. SakunC, as an EV Ferry-builder, is set to deliver 2,000 units of EV ferries to customers within 2025. As of present, the company has already completed the development of Aluminum EV Bus and readies to deliver to customers in the second half of this year, expecting a significant growth in 2020.
Mr. Weerapon stated that SakunC’s overall performance last year has reflected a very worthwhile investment of CWT and could provide the company with strong growth potential. Moreover, SakunC also showed a continuous uptrend which could create more solid fundamentals for CWT.
