9 Drugmakers Sign Covid-19 Vaccine Safety Pledge, Ensuring Public Confidence
Nine drug companies have signed a Covid-19 vaccine safety pledge after the final stages of human trials have been temporarily on hold due to safety concerns.
The University of Oxford has been putting its last-stage on human trials on hold after one of volunteers reportedly suffered a suspected serious adverse reaction, therefore nine drugmakers have come to an agreement to “minimize any potential impact of the trial timeline”.
Drugmarkers pledged that they will not submit vaccine candidates until safety and efficacy is shown in large clinical trials.
“Safety is our top priority,” nine drug companies said in a Tuesday statement.
“Demonstrating safety and efficacy through a phase 3 chinical study, we believe this pledge will help ensure public confidence in the rigorous scientific and regulatory process…” added on the drugmarkers’ joint statement.
