Nikkei Halts Trading Session over Technical Issue, Asia Markets Close for Holiday

Japan’s Tokyo Stock Exchange suspended its trading session on Thursday due to a technical issue, while major markets in the region were closed for holidays.

 

In the morning session on October 1, 2020, Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) announced a suspension to its trading session as a technical glitch occurred to distribution of market data. In this regard, TSE has halted the trading of all listed symbols today. In addition, order acceptance will be shut down after the timing.

Markets in China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan are closed for holidays. Meanwhile, the Australian ASX 200 gained 1.67%.

Last night, the U.S. officially announced its final read for its 3Q GDP forecast with a contraction of 31.4%, slightly better than the forecast of 31.7% a month earlier.
