The Banking-Energy Sector Drag SET Index Down by 12pts as Investors Shift Focus

SET Index closed the morning session on Tuesday at 1,463.75 points, decreased 12.38 points or 0.84% with a trading value of 46.5 billion baht.

 

The share price of stocks in the banking sector continued to edge lower as the analyst stated that the market is profit-taking, especially in outperforming big-cap stocks such as the banking and energy sectors that have been enjoying the rally in the past weeks.

The analyst stated that the SET Index could halt from short-term profit-taking after the stock market responded positively with a gain of 24% in six weeks, and investors could switch to focus on other sectors after selling the banking and energy sectors for profit.
