Stocks in Asia Mix in a Morning Session after Dow Jones and S&P500 Close at Record High.


Stocks in Asia fluctuated in the morning session after the Dow Jones and S&P 500 reached record closing highs on Friday.

 

As of 8:57 local time in Thailand on Monday, April 12, 2021, Nikkei slipped 0.22%, SSEC rose 0.07%, HSI dipped 0.17%, ASX 200 decreased 0.34% and Kospi gained 0.11%.

Last Friday, Dow Jones closed at 33,800.60 points, increased 297.03 points or 0.89%. S&P 500 edged 0.77% higher to 4,128.80 points. Both indexes closed at record closing higher. Meanwhile, Nasdaq rose 0.51% to close at 13,900.18 points.

 

Tisco Securities expected SET Index to move sideways from concerns over rising Covid-19 cases even though there was a positive factor from stateside as the Fed reaffirmed that it is highly unlikely the central bank will raise policy rate this year.

Yesterday, Thailand reported more than 900 cases of Covid-19, a new high. Meanwhile, there are only two business days this week due to a long holiday, which investors could decelerate their investment. In this regard, the analyst gave a support level at 1,560-1,555 points and a resistance level at 1,575 points.
