Thai GDP Expands 7.5% in 2Q21, Growing 2% in 1H
Thailand’s gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2021 expanded 7.5%, while growing 2% in the first half of this year.
The Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council (NESDC) announced that Thailand’s gross domestic product in the second quarter of 2021 expanded 7.5%, while growing 2% in the first half of this year.
The council added that the current state of the Thai economy is not going into a recession, but the growth is expected to slow down amid the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
The growth in 2Q21 bounced back from a drop of 2.6% in the first quarter of 2021, while the gross domestic product fell as much as 12.2% in the second quarter of 2020 when Covid-19 first broke out.
