AstraZeneca Booster Shot Shows Effectiveness against Omicron, Oxford Lab Study Shows
A study from Oxford University lab shows that a three-dose course of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine is effective against the omicron variant.
AstraZeneca on Thursday said that a three-dose course of AstraZeneca‘s Covid-19 vaccine is effective against the omicron variant, citing a study from Oxford University lab.
The study showed antibody levels against omicron were higher after injecting with the booster shot in which the level is higher than antibodies in people who have been infected with and recovered naturally from the virus. The neutralization against omicron after a three-dose course of the vaccine was similar to the level of two-dose course against the delta variant.
Still, the study has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal and the researchers at Oxford University who carried out the study were independent from those who worked on the vaccine, Vaxzevria, with AstraZeneca.
