Daily Strategy: CNS Expects SET Index to Edge Higher and Slowdown at the Closing
CNS said that the SET Index could edge higher today, but might need to be cautious at the end of session for a selloff.
Major stock markets in Asia traded in a mixed session after gains overnight on Wall Street as
S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average closed at record highs.
On December 30, 2021 Thailand’s SET Index opened at 1,655.29 points, increased 1.96 points or 0.12%.
As of 10:10 local time in Thailand, Nikkei slipped 0.07%, SSEC gained 0.69%, Hang Seng Index increased 0.40%, ASX 200 fell 0.09% and IDX Composite dipped 0.10%.
Last night, Dow Jones and S&P 500 closed at record highs, gaining 0.25% and 0.14%, respectively, while Nasdaq closed 0.10% lower.
Mr. Koraphat Vorachet, Capital Nomura Securities’ strategist, through “Kaohoon Jor Talad Program,” recommended investors to trade cautiously, especially for short-term investment, amid uncertainties of the omicron variant. Meanwhile, the selling of LTF at the beginning of next year could pressure the market and must be monitored closely.
In addition, the strategist said that the SET Index could edge higher today, but might need to be cautious at the end of session for a selloff, giving a support level at 1,638 points and a resistance level at 1,658-1,664 points.
