OR Believes Oil Sales Volume to Grow in 2020!, Sees Coronavirus as a Short-Term Effect
Mr. Bunma Ponthanakornkul, the Deputy Managing Director of PTT Oil and Retail Business Public Company Limited (OR), the subsidiary of PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) revealed that the sales volume of oil through OR’s gas station in 2020 likely to grow in the line with the estimation of the Department of Energy Business.
OR has expected that Thailand economy will continue to grow even several sectors, notably tourism sector are facing the effect of the coronavirus outbreak because OR saw the epidemic as a short-term impact and the oil price still at low level. Moreover, the Songkran Festival is about to come, OR believed that the oil consumption would further expand during the festival.
Regarding to the spreading of coronavirus, OR has already closed the Café Amazon temporarily in China, which located in Nanning, Guangxi for the sake of staffs’ safety and to stop the outbreak.
This year, OR plans to continuously expand and improve the gas stations that has been started since last year. 155 gas stations were established in the previous year, resulting OR to have 1,850 gas stations across the country.
Now OR is in the process of changing a fuel dispenser to support the sale of diesel B10 which will finish on 1 March 2020. OR aims to decrease selling diesel B7 and to sell diesel B10 instead in northern and southern area. While continuing to sell diesel B20 and diesel premium.
