Italy Shuts Down All Commercial Shops, Controlling an Escalating Virus Outbreak
The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said on Wednesday statement that all commercial and retail activities, with the exception of grocery stores, basic necessities and pharmacies, will be closed following the dramatically increasing of more than 12,000 Covid-19 confirmed cases and 827 deaths aligned the declaration of Covid-19 as a global pandemic by WHO.
However, all industrial factories will be able to continue the activities, but need to adopt the adequate sanitary protocols. Also the government essential public services such as public transportation, public utility, bank, postal and insurance will remain serving.
The activities of the agricultural, zootechnical and agri-food processing sectors will able to continue their producing under hygiene and health regulations control.
Even several sectors were orders the closure, but paid leave for employees must be encouraged.
