AOT Closes Phuket Airport after CAAT Ordered Ban on flights to Thailand amid Outbreak
Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) announced in reference to the prevention of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) outbreak and the speedy recovery from emergency situations, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has issued the following order and notification affecting all six airports under AOT’s supervision:
1) CAAT Order No. 85/2020 Re: Suspension of Phuket International Airport Operations, dated 3 April 2020, to suspend operations of Phuket International Airport from 00.01 a.m. of 10 April 2020 to 11.59 p.m. of 30 April 2020, or until further notice
2) CAAT Notification Re: Temporary Ban on All International Flights to Thailand (No. 2), dated 6 April 2020, to extend a temporary ban on all international flights to Thailand from 00.01 a.m. of 7 April 2020 to 11.59 p.m. of 18 April 2020
3) However, the Order and Notification under item 1 and item 2 do not apply to the following:
(1) State or military aircraft
(2) Emergency landing
(3) Technical landing without disembarkation
(4) Humanitarian aid, medical and relief flights
