Covid-19 Worldwide Cases Top 3.1 Million while in the U.S. Surpasses 1 Million
According to latest report, the coronavirus has infected at least 1 million people in the United States and the death toll has surpassed the total number of American soldiers died in the Vietnam War.
There are 1,012,582 covid-19 confirmed cases in the U.S. with 58,365 fatalities out of 5.7 million U.S. total tests, data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
President Donald Trump said the U.S. will “very soon” run 5 million coronavirus tests per day, even as the lack of testing remains an obstacle for many states anxious to reopen for business.
However, CNBC stated that America is currently nowhere near conducting 5 million tests a day with the fact that, the most tests the nation has run on a single day was 314,182 on April 22, according to data compiled by the Covid Tracking Project.
While the total figure of coronavirus infections worldwide has exceeded 3.1 million and more than 217,000 people were killed by this disease. The U.S. remains as the nation with both the most confirmed cases and the most deaths. Other countries with more than 150,000 confirmed cases are Spain, Italy, France, the United Kingdom and Germany.
