TPCH Starts a COD of Pattani Green Plant, Aiming to Reach a PPA of 250MW by 2020
TPC Power Holding Public Company Limited (TPCH) announced that Pattani Green Plant (PTG), a subsidiary of TPCH, has started to distribute commercial electricity with the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) with 21.0 MW power purchase agreement or 23.0 MW installed capacity at 12.00 PM on 19 May 2020 (commercial operation date or COD). PTG Biomass power plant is located in Lipasango, Nong Chik District, Pattani Province with a maximum capacity on contract with EGAT of 21.0 MW and an installed capacity of 23 MW. It is the first power plant under TPCH that operates and sells electricity to EGAT.
TPCH currently has a total exported capacity on contract of 73.8 MW in operation, 24.7 MW under the system testing phase to prepare for commercially operation, and 8 MW under construction. Overall, TPCH has a total exported capacity of 106.5 MW on hand.
Kanoktip Chanpalangsri Chairman of the Executive Board of Directors of TPCH said the COD of Pattani Green Plant (PTG) will enhance company’s revenue and profit as TPCH will have a total capacity of green plant up to 83.0 MW, increased from 60.0 MW. Currenly, TPCH has 6 green plants that already commerced a COD, comprised of CRB, MWE, MGP, TSG, PGP and SGP. TPCH as well looking for a new channel of investment both domestic and overseas to expand the sustainable business growth.
As for the 2020 operational plan, TPCH objects to increase a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to 250.0 MW in total, including
