Dow Futures Shrink More than 500pts, Reflecting a Market Concern Over Economic Recovery
Dow Jones Futures shrank over 500 points as investors weigh the pace of economic recovery and the coronavirus developments.
Dow Futures dropped 539.5 points or 2% to 26,421.5 points as of 14:45 local time in Thailand on Thursday. S&P 500 Futures dipped 51.88 points or 1.63% to 3,134.12 points. While Nasdaq Futures plugned 127.63 points or 1.27% to 9,959.62 points.
The downside move comes after the Federal Reserve announced to maintain interest rates near zero through 2022. As well as the concern about a second wave of coronavirus. Although the U.S. passed its virus peak in April, thus, started to reopen its economy, the uprising of protesters regarding the death of George Floyd in the U.S. raised up a worrisome among health officials as demonstrators did not stick to the social distancing.
