Worldwide Coronavirus Cases Surpass 15 Million, while Death Toll Tops 610,000
As of July 22, 2020, the coronavirus confirmed cases worldwide already surpassed 15 million, with over 610,000 recorded deaths according to Worldometers latest report.
The number of cases rose by 239,093 from a day earlier to 15,093,246 cases in total across the world.
The United States led the world as the worst-affected country from the Covid-19 with infections topped 4,028,569 in the country, while the death toll rose to 144,953.
Follows by Brazil, the cases nationwide has passed 2 million with 81,597 deaths, and India stood as the world’s third-most Covid-19 cases as the figure passed 1,194,085 and the virus has killed more than 28,000.
On July 20, BBC has reported that Oxford University developed a coronavirus vaccine, which tested on 1,077 people and led them to make antibodies and T-cells that can fight coronavirus. UK government had already ordered a mass production for 100 million doses of this vaccine.
The university stated that it would test on a larger group to make sure that the vaccine works and is safe. The result should be before the end of the year, but to make it widely spread would be at the beginning of next year the earliest.
