IVL Affirms No Danger to Olefins facility in USA after the Lightning Strike Incident

Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited (IVL) announced that on August 1, 2020 there was a lightning strike at Indorama Ventures Olefins LLC (IVOL) facility in Westlake, Louisiana, USA, resulting in a plant trip of the facility and subsequent flaring. There is no danger to the site, employees or surrounding community. The plant is currently offline and being assessed by plant personnel. All appropriate regulatory officials have been notified.

In addition, the site has an ethylene production capacity of 440 kilotons per annum (KTA) and is covered by a comprehensive insurance policy.
