White House Says U.S. Election Will Held on Nov 3 as Planned

White House Chief of Staff and Trump’s campaign Mark Meadows said on Sunday that the U.S. presidential election will be hold on November 3 as planned, defending the Republican president’s musings on delaying the 2020 vote.

“We’re going to hold an election on November 3 and the president is going to win,” Meadows said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

Meadows has stated Donald Trump was raising concerns about mail-in ballots that could lead to widespread voter fraud when he floated the idea of delaying the 2020 election.

Trump’s tweet on Thursday said that “2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history” and ended by questioning “Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???”

However, the idea of delaying an election was immediately rejected by both opposite party Democrats and his fellow Republicans in Congress.

When asked the White House Chief of Staff that if it were irresponsible for Trump to float the idea, Meadows said “It is responsible for him to say that if we try to go to 100% universal mail-in ballots, will we have an election result on November 3? Now I would suggest we wouldn’t even have it on January 1.”
