Thai August Industries Sentiment Rises for 4th Straight Month
Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) in August rose for the fourth straight month to 84.0 from 82.5 in July due to the collaboration across government, businesses and citizens in order to curb the spreading of Covid-19 pandemic, leading to economy normalizing.
Manufacturing output expanded aligned with a recovery in demand for automobile, home appliances, machines, foods and construction materials.
However, the index is still below 100 as consumers are carefully on spending, coupled with a raising concern over a vulnerable economy. Meanwhile SMEs are facing tighter liquidity and unaffordable leasing.
