NWR Acquires a ฿4.28Bn Construction Contract for High-speed Rail Systems BKK-Korat

Nawarat Patanakarn Public Company Limited (NWR) announced that on November 26, 2020, the Company has signed the construction contract for the cooperation project between the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Government of the People’s Republic of China for development of high-speed rail systems to connect regions Bangkok-Nong Khai (Phase 1 Bangkok-Nakhon Ratchasima) contract 3-2 civil works for tunnel (Muak Lek and Lam Takhong) with the contract value of 4,279 million baht.

The works include tunnels and structures on a total distance of 12.23 km. (consist of railway tunnels approx. 8.00 km., ground level railway cars approx. 3.27 km. and elevated railway structures approx. 0.96 km.), building and construction to support 4 electric train systems including connecting roads and drainage system, relocation of utilities and other works required for the project. The construction is expected to complete in 1,080 days.
