GUNKUL Disposes Solar Farm in Japan, Booking ฿1.09Bn to Strengthen Renewable Energy Biz
Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited (GUNKUL) announced the Executive Committee Meeting held on 24th December 2020, has passed a resolution approving Future Asset Management KK (FAM) and Gunkul International (Mauritius) (GIM), which are subsidiaries of the Company, to sign an investment purchase agreement in the proportion of 100% of East Japan Solar 13 Godo Kaisha (EJS 13), where EJS 13 is the company that operates the Iwakuni solar power plant project in Japan with the capacity under the power purchase agreement of 75 MW and according to the installation capacity of 98 MW, with GK Kaihatsu No.77 and ISH Kaihatsu No.77 for the disposition of the Iwakuni solar power plant project. The value of the sale of the project as agreed in the amount of 9,942 million yen or equivalent to 2,863 million baht.
GUNKUL has already entered into a transaction on 28th December 2020, which was the date of the change from the former shareholder to a new shareholder.
GUNKUL expected to record a profit from the disposal of investments worth approximately 1,090 million baht and to have liquidity and leverage to be used for turnover and new investments, together with the ability to procure new renewable energy projects and others in order to generate a higher and faster rate of return.
