ADVANC to Receive the 700 MHz Spectrum License after Making the 1st Installment to NBTC

Advanced Info Service Public Company Limited (ADVANC) announced that Advanced Wireless Network (AWN), the 99.99% subsidiaries of ADVANC, has made the first installment for the 700 MHz spectrum license, totaling THB 1,758.4 million and fulfilled the conditions precedent for obtaining the license as specified by the NBTC. After this, the NBTC will issue the 700 MHz license to AWN accordingly.

Reference is made to the previous disclosure dated June 19, 2019 regarding the allocation of 700 MHz spectrum for telecommunications service issued by the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC), AWN has received the allocation in the frequency range 723-733 MHz paired with 778-788 MHz (2×10 MHz bandwidth) with the license period of 15 years. The total spectrum price is 17,584 million baht (excluding VAT) to be paid in 10 annual installments or 1,758.4 million baht for each installment. AWN must comply with the rules and conditions announced by the NBTC including paying the first installment before the starting date of the license and the remaining installments in each subsequent year.

 

The 700MHz spectrum is a standard low-band frequency for 5G, which has an outstanding characteristic of wide coverage. This will enhance AIS to broaden our 5G service area and provide new services in the future.
