Jack Ma Falls Out of Favor after Being Delisted from China Media’s Top Business Leaders
According to Reuters, the Chinese billionaire and the founder of Alibaba Group Jack Ma has been delisted from the China state media’s list of entrepreneurial leaders published on Tuesday.
Ma, who disappeared from the public eye for about three months, has been ignored by the Shanghai Securities News as his name was cut off from its front-page commentary while it lauded other leading businessmen in bringing technology revolution in the country, including Huawei Technologies’ Ren Zhengfei, Xiaomi Corp’s Lei Jun and BYD’s Wang Chuanfu for their contribution to the country.
The former CEO of Chinese e-commerce giant had not made a public appearance since October 24 after he criticised China’s regulatory system in a speech, which led to the suspension of his Ant Group’s $37 billion IPO just days before its listing.
