US Senate Passes Budget Resolution, Allowing Demoreats to Advance Biden's $1.9Tn Aid Bill
According to Reuters, the US Senate on Friday has passed a budget resolution allowing Democrats to move forward with the process toward passing a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill without Republican support in the coming week.
President Joe Biden’s $1.9 trillion Covid aid plan includes $1,400 direct payments, a $400 per week jobless benefit through September, a $20 billion national Covid-19 vaccination program, $50 billion for virus testing and $170 billion for K-12 schools and higher education institutions, said CNBC report.
Democrats aim to pass a relief package before March 14, when a $300 per week unemployment supplement approved in December expires.
