PTTEP Discovers Largest Gas Well in Malaysia to Support Gas Reserve and Long-Term Growth
PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) announced that PTTEP HK Offshore Limited (Malaysia Branch) or PTTEP HKO, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PTTEP, has completed the Lang Lebah-2 appraisal well in the SK410B Project located offshore Sarawak, Malaysia.
The appraisal drilling at Lang Lebah-2 followed the gas discovery of the first exploration well, Lang Lebah-1RDR2, in September 2019. The appraisal well was drilled to a total depth of 4,320 meters with proven over 600 meters of net gas pay, indicating a larger reservoir than the initial estimate. The well test shows a flow rate of 50 million cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD). The drilling result registers a new record for PTTEP’s largest gas discovery and will increase reserve and support company long-term growth.
Sarawak SK410B Project is located in the shallow waters, approximately 90 kilometers offshore Sarawak, with the acreages of approximately 1,870 square kilometers. The consortium consists of PTTEP HKO as the Operator, KUFPEC Malaysia (SK410B) Limited and PETRONAS Carigali Sdn. Bhd. (PCSB) with participating interests of 42.5%, 42.5% and 15% respectively.
