TCC Confidence Falls to 26-Month Low in Feb on Covid-19 Resurgence Concerns
The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce’s (UTCC) unveiled that the Thai Chamber of Commerce Confidence Index (TCC-CI) in February plunged to 29.6 points from 29.8 points in January, the lowest figure in 26 months, due to the resurgence of Covid-19 outbreak fears in Thailand.
TCC has sampled about 369 people in the business sector nationwide.
The lower point reflects the concerns about Covid-19 new wave which has significantly affected people’s lifestyle, economic activities, business operations, and political instability.
However, Thai economy still has positive factors from the Government’s stimulus package such as Kon La Krueng (let’s go halves’ scheme), We Travel Together campaign and Rao Chana (we win scheme) that boost public consumption, along with the coronavirus vaccine rollout.
