PTTEP Declares Force Majeure for Mozambique LNG Project due to Safety Reasons


PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited (PTTEP) declared Force Majeure for Mozambique LNG Project due to security situation in Palma, Mozambique. 

 

Refer to recent security situation in the city of Palma, Mozambique, situated approximately 20 kilometres from the Mozambique LNG Project site, PTTEP Mozambique Area 1 Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTTEP, holds 8.5% participating interest alongside ENH Rovuma Área Um, S.A. (15%), Mitsui E&P Mozambique Area1 Limited (20%), ONGC Videsh Rovuma Limited (10%), Beas Rovuma Energy Mozambique Limited (10%), BPRL Ventures Mozambique B.V. (10%), and TOTAL E&P Mozambique Area 1 Limitada holds 26.5% participating interest and is operator of this project. 

 

Additionally, PTTEP informed that all project’s staff and contractors are safe from this situation. The operator has evacuated all staff and contractors out of the area and handed the project site to be under care of the Government of Mozambique. Subsequently, the Operator of the Project has declared Force Majeure for safety reasons. Nevertheless, PTTEP is closely monitoring the situation and assessing impact to this project.
