STGT to Resume Production in Surat Thani Factory Early Next Week
STGT's CEO Miss Jarinya revealed that the Surat Thani factory is scheduled to resume production early next week after implementing measures to improve plant's hygiene.
Miss Jarinya Jirojkul, Chief Executive Officer of Sri Trang Gloves (Thailand) Public Company Limited (STGT), revealed that the Surat Thani factory is scheduled to resume production early next week following the implementation of a variety of measures to improve hygiene and cleanliness, as well as testing all workers for COVID-19.
As of 28 May 2021, there were a total of 41 daily-wage employees who had tested positive for COVID-19, 3 employees working at the Surat Thani Factory and 38 employees working at the Trang Factory. STGT together with the Provincial Health Authorities decided to implement the strictest health measures, with closing the production line for sanitization from 28 -30 May 2021 and testing of all at-risk employees.
STGT coordinated and collaborated with local public health authorities to expedite COVID-19 testing for all employees at the Trang factory. Quarantine housing will be assigned to high-risk employees and their families. This is to assure containment and compliance with the strictest hygiene standards upon resumption of manufacturing.
Ms. Jarinya underlined that, though the Trang and Surat Thani plants have temporarily ceased production, there will be no shortage of rubber gloves for the Thai market.
