AOT’s “Nitinai” Points Out “Inappropriateness” in Holding a Stake in “THAI”

AOT’s “Nitinai” Points Out “Inappropriateness” in Holding a Stake in “THAI”.

In reference to an earlier report stating that the Ministry of Finance was expecting a capital increase for Thai Airways International Public Company Limited (THAI). The newly issued shares were expecting to be held by other state enterprises, which appeared to have Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT)’s name in the list due to its high potential and suitability.

Mr. Nitinai Sirismatthakarn, President of AOT, has stated through “Kaohoon Jor Talad” program on April 23, 2020, that the company currently has liquidity, but will be required for further expansion of AOT’s businesses. As for the suitability, The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) forbids favouritism on one certain airline. Thus, a company which operates an airport such as AOT would never hold a stake in an airline.
