Thai Commercial Banks to Report a Profit of ฿130Bn in 2020 with a Total Div. of ฿19.76!
7 Thai commercial banks to combine a total of 130 billion baht of profit in 2020 with a combined dividend payment of ฿19.76/share.
The analyst expected seven Thai commercial banks (SCB, KBANK, BAY, BBL, KTB, TMB and KKP) to combine a total of 130 billion baht of profit in 2020, a decrease of 27.8%. Meanwhile, the combined dividend payment from seven banks is expected at ฿19.76/share, a decline from ฿24.10/share.
Tisco Securities expected the performance of Thai commercial banks to recover once the suspension for loan payment, a measure to support loaners during pandemic, ends in October. The security company forecasted all seven commercial banks to combine a net profit of 130,588 million baht for the year, a decrease of 27.8% from a combined net profit of 184,804 million baht last year.
As for the dividend payment, Tisco believed all banks are ready to issue the dividend payment for its fiscal year after the Bank of Thailand (BOT) suspended the bank from issuing an interim dividend payment to maintain their provision funds in case of an emergency during the pandemic outbreak earlier this year. The combined dividend payment from seven banks is expected to be at ฿19.76/share, lower than a combined dividend of ฿24.10/share a year earlier.
Tisco Securities estimated SCB to report a net profit of 29,313 million baht in 2020, a decline of 27.51% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿4.30/share, a drop from ฿6.25/share in last year.
KBANK is expected to report a net profit of 24,922 million baht in 2020, a decline of 35.64% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿4.60/share, a drop from ฿5.00/share in last year.
BAY is expected to report a net profit of 21,852 million baht in 2020, a decline of 33.27% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿0.55/share, a drop from ฿0.85/share in last year.
BBL is expected to report a net profit of 20,914 million baht in 2020, a decline of 41.61% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿6.50/share, a drop from ฿7.00/share in last year.
KTB is expected to report a net profit of 18,095 million baht in 2020, a decline of 38.21% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿0.51/share, a drop from ฿0.75/share in last year.
TMB is expected to report a net profit of 10,924 million baht in 2020, an increase of 51.26% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿0.06/share, a drop from ฿0.04/share in last year. TMB would be the only company this year to report a higher profit and dividend payment, which is the result of the merger with TBANK.
KKP is expected to report a net profit of 4,569 million baht in 2020, a decline of 23.70% from a year earlier, while the dividend payment would be ฿3.24/share, a drop from ฿4.25/share in last year.
