U Soars 10% as Investors Focus on Underperformed Small and Mid-Cap Stocks
The share price of U rose 10.5% to Bt1.05 per share as investors were speculating on small and mid-cap stocks that underperformed the market.
The share price of U City Public Company Limited (U) rose ฿0.10/share or 10.53% to close the morning session on May 24, 2021 at ฿1.05/share with a trading value of 1,487 million baht.
Capital Nomura Securities stated that the surge in U’s share price could be due to a speculation from investors on small and mid-cap stocks as the outlook in the Thai stock market seems to be not as lively as usual, resulting in a switch-play to some specific stocks that still underperform the market such as U, which is a laggard stock.
