RCL Gains 2% as Freight Index Rises amid Tight Supply in South China due to Covid-19 Spread. Nomura expected SET100 to add RCL in the upcoming rebalance.
The share price of Regional Container Lines Public Company Limited (RCL) rose ฿1.25/share or 2.15% to ฿59.50/share with a trading value of 700 million baht as of 10:51 local time in Thailand on June 14, 2021.
Kasikorn Securities stated that the Shanghai Containerized Freight Index rose 2.5% compared to the previous week, making a record high at 3,704 points due to the tight supply chain from the Covid-19 spread in Southern China, which could be positive to RCL.
Meanwhile, Capital Nomura Securities expected the upcoming rebalance in the SET Index to be announced in mid June and take effect on July 1 to include RCL in the SET100 Index as well.
