US Moves Thailand to “Very High” Covid Travel Risk, Urging Americans to Avoid the Country
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) urged its citizens to avoid traveling to Thailand by placing the country on the highest travel advisory tier due to the worsening Covid-19 outbreak.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Monday (August 10) urged Americans to avoid traveling to Thailand, France, Israel, and other countries after placing them on the highest travel advisory tier due to the worsening Covid-19 outbreak in those countries.
CDC recently added seven countries, including Thailand, to the Level 4 classification, indicating a “very high” level of Covid-19, stating that due to the country’s current situation, “even fully vaccinated travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading Covid-19 variants.”
The decision comes as Thailand’s coronavirus infection rate continues to set records, with over 767,000 new cases and 6,400 deaths reported since April 1.
