DTAC Reports a Decline of 42% in 3Q21 Earnings as Costs Surge, ARPU Plunges
DTAC reported a net profit of 832 million baht in 3Q21, decreased 42% YoY due to higher cost in the quarter.
Total Access Communication Public Company Limited (DTAC) has announced its 3Q21 consolidated financial statement through the Stock Exchange of Thailand as follows;
DTAC reported a net profit of 832 million baht in 3Q21, decreased 42% from a net profit of 1,435 million baht in 3Q20.
Total revenues in 3Q21 amounted to 19,232 million baht, increased 0.9% YoY due to an increase in other operating income from TOT 2300MHz network rental. Meanwhile, service revenue excluding IC amounted to 13,978 million baht, decreased 2.8% YoY from the prolonged macroeconomic pressure.
Cost of services excluding IC in 3Q21 was 12,309 million baht, increased 8.8% YoY due to higher TOT2300MHz network roaming cost, partially offset by lower network and regulatory costs.
Depreciation and amortization (D&A) of costs of services in 3Q21 amounted to 5,263 million baht, increased 8.5% YoY from amortization of 700 MHz licenses, depreciation of assets from IFRS16 capitalization and continuing network expansion.
At the end of 3 Q21, total active subscriber base stood at 19.3 million, an increase of 26,000 from the end of 2Q21. The increase in subscriber base consisted of prepaid at 31,000 with a slight decline of 5,000 postpaid customers.
Average revenue per user excluding IC (ARPU) for 3Q21 was 241 baht per month, decreased 2.7% QoQ and 5.5% YoY from the escalated Covid-19 situation.
