1) Tesla becomes a trillion dollar company
Tesla’s market capitalization crossed $1 trillion on Monday as the company struck a deal to sell 100,000 vehicles to the car rental firm Hertz. Tesla reported $1.62 billion in (GAAP) net income in 3Q21, increased from $331 million in the same period last year. The company has replaced Facebook as the 6th biggest company by market cap in the world.
2) Joe Biden lifts travel restriction starting November 8
U.S. President Joe Biden signed an order imposing new vaccine requirements for most foreign national air travelers and lifting travel restrictions on China, India and much of Europe effective November 8, 2021.
3) Joe Biden to join ASEAN summit
U.S. President Joe Biden will take part in a virtual summit with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) on Tuesday, October 26, 2021. This attendance will be the U.S. first time in four years after Donald Trump’s refusal in 2017.
4) Sudan’s military takes power in coup
Sudan’s military seized power on Monday, arresting Prime Minister Abdalla Hamdok and other senior officials just weeks before the military was supposed to transfer the leadership of the council over to civilians.
