Civil Court Finds Yuanta’s Mrs. Boonporn Guilty, Compensating ฿578m. to Maybank Kim Eng
The Civil Court finds Mrs. Boonporn Boriboonsongsilp guilty for holding Maybank Kim Eng's confidential information, and order 578 million baht must be paid to compensate Maybank.
The report on August 30, 2018 states that Thai Civil Court finds Mrs.Boonporn Boriboonsongsilp, Chief Executive Officer and Authorized Director of Yuanta Securities (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Yuanta) who is a former Co-Chief Executive Officer and Retail Business Development of MAYBANK KIM ENG Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited (MBKET), guilty regarding the lawsuit on holding MBKET’s confidential information of brokers compensation, and inviting approximately 205 MBKET’s employees to work with Yuanta.
MBKET also files Yuanta’s Mr. Bhuripat Kheoboriboon, former MBKT Director and Head of Corporate Communication Department, and other executives under the same lawsuit, while filing three defendants to Labour Court for violating MBKET’s contract.
Thai Civil Court sentences Mrs.Boonporn Boriboonsongsilp to compensate MBKET a total of 578 million baht with 7.5% interest of the capital starting June 16, 2017 along with a 1 million baht for MBKET’s retainer fee.
