The Final Page of “Student Weekly”, Starting Anew with E-Learning
Kaleidoscope, Student Weekly or S Weekly. Whatever the name it might have been in your era, the magazine has been together with us for almost 50 years, and now it has come to an end.
Student Weekly, an english weekly magazine for Thai English learners, has come to an end of its printed version with the final volume dated September 30, 2018. As the technologies are booming, learning is not limited only to textbooks anymore. Most of the people now had access to the internet, which connects them to anywhere and anything in the world by simply just swiping on the smartphone.
The magazine was born on June 30, 1969. Back then it was called Kaleidoscope that looked quite serious, with no colour, and no celebrity interviews. Then, the name was changed to Student Weekly, and finally S Weekly.
The closing in printing does not mean an ending of Student Weekly. This lovely publisher has been writing stories, posting articles online along with vocabularies and audio support in Bangkok Post Learning (Bangkok Post Newspaper’s Website) everyday since 2010, and they will continue to do so.
