GULF Commences “Gulf BP” 126.8MW Feeding with 4 SPPs to Come Next Year!

GULF starts the commercial operation of Gulf BP, providing 90MW to EGAT and expecting four more SPPs to be readied next year.


Gulf Energy Development Public Company Limited (GULF) has reported that Gulf BP Company Limited (GBP), a subsidiary of GULF and the operator of Gulf BP power project, commenced the sale of electricity to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) on November 1, 2018 under the Small Power Producer (SPP) program.

The Gulf BP power project is located adjacent to the Gulf BL power project in the Hi-Tech Industrial Estate, Ayutthaya province, with an installed power generation capacity of 126.8MW and an installed steam generation capacity of 10.0 tons per hour. GBP will supply a contracted power generation capacity of 90.0MW to EGAT pursuant to a 25-year power purchase agreement and will supply the remaining power and steam generation capacity to industrial users through secured long-term contracts.

 

The Gulf BP power project is the eighth gas-fired SPP completed under Gulf MP Company Limited (GMP), which will develop a total of 12 power projects with a combined installed power generation capacity of 1,563.4MW and a combined installed steam generation capacity of 225.0 tons per hour. The remaining four SPPs are currently under construction and are expected to successively begin commercial operations as scheduled between January and July 2019.
