BJC Seizes More Than Half of WG, Announcing Tender Offer at ฿180 for Remaining Shares
BJC has taken over 50% of WG's shares by acquiring 23.37% from the former major shareholder, OSP.
Berli Jucker Public Company Limited (BJC) has announced that the company had purchased 50.24% of White Group Public Company Limited (WG)’s shares through its subsidiary, Big C Retail Holding Company Limited (Big C Retail). As agreed with the sellers, BJC purchased a total of 8,967,818 shares at the price of ฿180.00/share.
The 50.24% shares comprise with 23.37% from Osotspa Public Company Limited (OSP), 8.80% from MDX Asset Company Limited and 18.07% from five minor individual shareholders for a total of ฿1,614.2 million.
Furthermore, BJC is obliged to make a mandatory tender offer for all of 8,882,182 remaining securities of WG (equivalent to 49.76% of the total issued shares) at the price of ฿180.00/share, amounting to the total offered value of ฿1,598.9 million.
BJC expects that this acquisition of WG shares will enhance the business strength in the distribution of industrial chemicals business of the group of company by efficiently expanding the products portfolio and customer base in the relevant businesses.
