The Next Chapter of Trade War, Trump Hikes 5% Tariffs on All Mexican Imports

The U.S. President Donald Trump has announced to increase 5% tariff on all of the imported goods from Mexico which it will be effected on June 10, 2019. Moreover, the tariff will be risen 5% every month until reaching a permanent level 25% by October 2019, if Mexico does not have an effective action for illegal immigration.
Due to Trump’s concern about the national security from the illegal migration on Mexico border, the new measurement of increasing tariffs on Mexican imported goods will be applied next month.

In addition, Trump might wanted to do as he tweeted “Everyone knows I am opposed to tariffs and deeply value Arizona’s relationship with Mexico. I prioritize national security and a solution to our humanitarian crisis at the border above commerce,”

The hike in tariff seems very brutal to Mexico, however, Trump stated that “If the illegal migration crisis is alleviated through effective actions taken by Mexico, to be determined in our sole discretion and judgment, the tariffs will be removed”

Regarding this situation, Mexico’s deputy foreign minister for North America, Jesus Seade has also said “We’re in a good moment building a good relationship (with the United States) and this comes like a cold shower.”
